Report summary

Goal: A boat-towed survey to test the Synapse Magnetometer Array System feature set, survey experience, and performance.

Sea Trial Date: Spring, 2023

Location: Gurnard Bay, The Solent, UK for its relatively flat bottom, and average depth of 20m.

Tow Vessel: 12-meter-long, equipped for nearshore geophysical survey with state-of-the-art instrumentation (auto-pilot, MultiBeam Echo sounder (MBES) and Differential GPS).

Array Frame: 3m wide, 4-magnetometer array with IMU.

Surrogate Evaluation Target: 50 kg iron (not used).
